EDWARD T.
SCHALK
Edward Schalk & Son was founded in 1940 as a partnership by Edward T. Schalk and his son Edward J. Schalk. In 1956 Edward Schalk & Son became Incorporated. Edward T. Schalk was a master plaster mechanic for 63 years.
EDWARD J.
SCHALK
Edward J. Schalk joined his father upon release from the U.S. Naval Corps in 1947. Prior to his five years of W.W. II service as a naval fighter pilot, Edward J. Schalk worked as a sheet metal journeyman and plaster apprentice. He became the President of Edward Schalk & Son, Inc. until his passing in 2007. During this time, Edward J. Schalk also served as President of the International Wall & Ceiling Contractors.
JOHN D.
SCHALK
John D. Schalk received his Associate Degree in Construction Technology from State University of New York at Delhi and Bachelor of Science Degree in Contracting and Construction from Utica College of Syracuse University. John D. Schalk began to work for Edward Schalk & Son, Inc. in 1963, on a part-time basis learning the trades of plastering and carpentry. In 1970, he was employed full time and became President in 2007. John D. Schalk has also served as the President of the Syracuse Builders Exchange.
JOHN P.
SCHALK
John P. Schalk received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Economics from Cornell University in 2003, the same year he was captain of the 2003 Men’s Lacrosse Team. John P. Schalk began working part time for Edward Schalk & Son, Inc. in 1996. In 2004, he began working full time, after volunteering his services for one year in the AmeriCorps*NCCC.
Community Involvement
We have worked on various assignments giving back to the the community. Our give backs are primarily in the Syracuse area. We still provide high quality construction for volunteer projects.
